8th-Oct-2012 11:27 am - New Book Trailer
Here is the trailer for my book 'The Snickitysnatcher'

20th-Nov-2011 04:52 pm - New book trailer
For my recently released book, Thus Saith Hollywood.

You can view the trailer here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2wldmeWe_c

I've made my mess my message.
Except that I don't look at it like a mess anymore.
The book:  Nowhere Hair.

It's a kid's book that explains cancer of a loved one to children.
I know.
But, I've pitched whimsy against cancer.
And you know what?
Whimsy wins every time, especially in the eyes of children.
And the fact that the main character is powerful, beautiful, hip, cool and stylish ... and yeah, bald ... is a real saving grace for those moms (and grandmothers, and aunties, and teachers, and friends) who need to read this book over and over to their kids.

Available at my website (www.NowhereHair.com) and at Amazon .
Folks, I'd just like to remind anyone posting here that the rules for this community, as stated in this community's profile, require embedded videos to be placed under an LJ-cut. If everyone posted their embedded video without an LJ-cut, the main index would become too slow for visitors to load. And then the visitors would miss seeing everyone's videos.

Unfortunately, I can't edit other people's posts to add LJ-cuts, so my only alternative, in cases where people violate (or simply fail to notice) the community rules, is to delete the post, which I certainly don't want to have to do. So I'd appreciate everyone's cooperation.

8th-Sep-2008 09:46 pm - Children's digital booktalks
I've received the following e-mail from Mark Geary:

"I have a site with a couple hundred children's booktrailers.

"I also wrote an article to teachers about how to make trailers."

The article he mentions is a nice, simple introduction to using Microsoft's free software, Photo Story 3.
He has taken a blood vow to the Jackal God to bring freedom to his land by killing Koretia's greatest enemy. But what will he do when the enemy becomes his friend?

I was thrilled to find this LJ Community! Thank you for putting it together!

My name is Sheila Clover English and I am the CEO of Circle of Seven Productions. Our company is the leader in Book Trailer production in the US. We started creating Book Trailers in 2002 and from there expanded from online/broadband to broadcast including television and movie theater. We will be announcing some new venues in 2008 after my trip to NYC in January. I look forward to sharing that information with you.

You are welcome to sign up for newsletter if you want to find out about current trends, etc. We try to get one newsletter out a month and we try to balance it between business and fun!

I'm not sure if anyone is interested in things like multiple venue distribution or broadcast, but if you are, just let me know and I'm happy to share what I have learned over the years.

We'll try to post video here and hopefully get some feedback! We do beta testing of our videos, which means that we have a bunch of volunteers (mostly bookseller and book reviewers but readers too) that review samples of our work for quality assessment. We appreciate constructive feedback!

I hope to meet more book video makers and fans here in the future!

Also, if you haven't checked it out you can watch Reader's Entertainment TV! There's a station where you can have your own video played called Guest Book Video. It's free, you just have to upload to www.veoh.com and send a note to info@cosproductions.com and we'll upload it to the station!

28th-Sep-2007 10:33 am - Book Trailer Challenge
Hi all,

Just want to let you know Sarah Langan is having a book trailer challenge for her latest book THE MISSING.

Thriller/horror fans, YouTube buffs and the like are invited to create a 30-second trailer for THE MISSING, upload it to YouTube and post the link their MySpace page at www.myspace.com/themissingcontest.

Winner gets an iPhone.

Kicks off Monday, Oct 1 and runs through Halloween (muahaha) Oct 31st.

Sarah picks the winner, announces it on her MySpace page, website and elsewhere. THE MISSING has garnered critical praise as well, and Sarah's style is lauded for being "akin to Stephen King's more ambitious work" (PW).

Anyway, for all you book trailer pioneers out there, this is one to watch. I think I'm going to pull out my fancy Nokia cell phone (note: it's Zach Morris old school) and shoot a video of my bf running through the woods from me. Another day in the life.

THE MISSING on HarperCollins

Sadly, Book Trailerpark, the only other blog devoted to book videos, has shut down. However, its archives remain online and are well worth browsing through.

The good news is that the blog's parent publication, The Book Standard, is continuing to carry booktrailer articles by Book Trailerpark's moderator, Kimberly Maul. Here is the latest one, which is about the winner of The Book Standard's Picture Book Video Awards.

To continue reading Kimberly Maul's articles on book videos, simply use The Book Standard's search engine to search on appropriate keywords.
13th-Dec-2006 08:11 am - Turn-of-the-Century Toughs
Disreputable men on the margins of society, and the men and women who love them. Trailer to three of my historical fantasy novel series: The Eternal Dungeon, Life Prison, and Michael's House. The novels are set in a world based on the late Victorian and Edwardian Eras.

The trailer comes in two versions. The first version (which you can watch online or download) is suitable for viewing by most teenagers and adults. The second version (which you can only download) contains brief mature content. The trailer is accessible to the deaf.

Watch the trailer online. (This page has an embedded video and therefore may take a while to download if you have a slower Internet connection.)

Download the trailer.

(Comments are disabled because there's a link at the end of the linked pages to a LiveJournal blog where you – and members of other LJ communities where this notice is posted – may post comments.)

Book Trailerpark reports that "the winning films from The Book Standard Teen Book Video Awards are now up online."
